Dior Star Foundation - The worlds first selfie foundation...

DIOR STAR FOUNDATION

Like many things in life, great things come to you when you're not searching for them. In this instance, it's foundation. After the 8 beautiful years with NARS (I use Sheer Glow) the love affair is finally over. Im so sorry Francois, but Dior has created a foundation to make your skin look flawless in photographs, and as I like to engage in the act of 'selfie' on a regular basis, I'm afraid I'm hooked!

Dior Star Foundation

Using a pioneering new formula and 'light pulsion' technology, Dior Star Foundation captures the natural light on the face to enhance cheekbones, eyes, and banishes dull skin, making users look instantly flawless, and photogenic. The silica beads in the foundation capture and diffuses light without shine.

Available in 15 shades

Im obsessed with foundation, not because I have bad skin, I just love having a flawless looking, radiant complexion. Since working with makeup artists, I have realised that amazing makeup on a shoot (or in life) requires being able to see real skin, rather than the airbrushed look. Of course, at the time of this epiphany, I had to rethink my whole beauty routine, so I started wearing less foundation, with the addition of an illuminating primer (review coming soon) - it was a revelation!

Here are my in store my selfies....

This foundation, is a real game changer for me, and having flawless and perfect looking skin, that requires using less makeup than I would normally use is amazing.

To be honest, the fact that it looks great on camera is not very important to me. I'm more interested in how it looks and feels in real life - it feels like second, looks incredibly radiant, luminous, and it lasts all day.

You have to apply it with a brush, or the Dior Beauty Blender that comes with it, because its so difficult to blend with the hands, and this way you can achieve a more natural finish. Also, all Dior counters have this amazing skin testing machine which works out your foundation shade.

Now, all I want for Christmas is a selfie stick!

Say F**k it to ageing...

COWSHED ANTI-AGEING PERFECTING NIGHT SERUM

I met an old friend for dinner last night and she told me I looked younger. I love my friends. Seriously, it's the best thing I have heard this year. I admit, and have to agree, I do look, and feel like I have lost a couple of years.

This was not the case a few days earlier, however, when I suffered from a mini meltdown. It was Sunday night, and officially Autumn. It suddenly dawned upon me that it's November next week - two months until the new year, which means, two months until my next birthday!
I felt super old.

Luckily, another very nice friend helped me snap out of it by making me realise that I shouldn't really be worrying about the inevitable. I can defy ageing by looking after myself, using the correct products, and most importantly being happy.

So today, I live by saying F**k it to ageing!

Cowshed Anti-Ageing Perfecting Serum

Dreamy...

Getting your beauty sleep is not a myth. It is one of the most important factors to prevent ageing, and it's free. Try it tonight! While you sleep, every cell in your body regenerates, so applying the correct products during this time will boost cell renewal, and make a huge difference to your skin.

For about a month now, I have been using the Cowshed Anti-Ageing Perfecting Seruman all-in-one serum and oil hybrid, which promises to reduces fine lines and hyper-pigmentation, balance oil production, sooth and calm sun-damaged skin and provide intense hydration.

Does it work?

YES. It is probably the best night product I have used in a while. Even for someone like me, who gets very little sleep, it works wonders. Its like 8 hours in a bottle! Each night, I look forward to taking my makeup off and lathering my skin (upwards) with this magic potion.

It smells and feels amazingly relaxing, like a comfort blanket for my face and neck. It's packed with botanicals such as Rosehip, Evening Primrose, and also a bespoke fragrance note Actiscent®, which combats sagginess, supports elasticity, and fights damaging free-radicals.

This is combined with natural extracts of Sandalwood, Green Tea and South American Copahu to give an aromatherapy feel, making you feel sleepy.

Apply onto the face and neck by massaging into the skin. This works on your lymphatic system to invigorate cells, assists in penetrating the nutrients to your skin, and drains any toxins.

Since using it, my skin feels so soft and hydrated, it feels firmer, and looks brighter. It has also improved my skin tone, and the texture.

Combine this with happiness, Kale juice, and yoga each morning, and watch the years fall away...

Available from Cowshed
£48

**Also, If you're near a Cowshed Spa, you have to try the Skin Perfecting facial that comes along with it, which is incredible.

All Hail the Snail!

Dr Organic Snail Gel Range

Would you like your skin to age at snails pace? Well, now you (literally) can, with the new Snail Gel skincare collection from Dr Organic.

...also, did I mention, it's made out of snail slime?!!!!!!!

Is Snail the new Kale?

This unusual and unlikely beauty trend, which has taken over Hollywood (sales were up last year by 700%) was discovered by Chilean snail farmers who noticed minor cuts and scars on their hands were healing unusually quickly.

The Dr Organic beauty product line exclusively uses the unique ingredient, Helix Aspersa Muller (slime, to you and me) which the snail uses to quickly regenerate its own shell and skin when damaged.

Luckily, its blended with a number of bio-active, natural and organic extracts to leave your skin feeling hydrated, smoother and firmer with a more youthful glow.

I have them here with me now, and can assure you that all of the products feel, and smell great.

The range consists of The Snail Gel Cream, and Serum, Hand and Nail Elixir, Eye Serum, and Snail Gel Moisture Mask.

Review coming soon.

Available from Holland & Barrett

Prices start from £1.99

*Please note, no snails were harmed when producing this product

Cowshed Skin Perfecting Facial

COWSHED SKIN PERFECTING FACIAL
COWSHED SPA, CARNABY LONDON

Like any alchemist, I'm on a quest in search of gold, and the elixir of life.
But in my case, it's for glowing skin, and the best moisturiser for eternal youth...

While you wait for me to enlighten you, it is possible to achieve goddess-like, Jennifer Lopez skin with makeup, however, I have discovered the most amazing facial which will give you a luminous glow from within, The Cowshed Skin Perfecting Facial.

The Cowshed Skin Perfecting Facial is an all-in-one anti-ageing facial treatment for a firmer, brighter, and smoother complexion. It starts with a cleanse, steam, and exfoliation, followed by a facial yoga massage to stimulate blood flow, and finished off with the application of the Cowshed Anti-Ageing Perfecting Serum, which I am currently testing out (review coming soon).

Even for me, this is pretty indulgent, but the other day, I looked in the mirror, and didn't even recognise myself! My holiday glow had disappeared, whilst my regular routine of my hectic London lifestyle had started to sink in - a 3 hour daily commute, lack of sleep, and also a three week flu, had left me feeling drained of energy, and actually quite sad.

I had the facial on Wednesday night at the Carnaby Spa, which is a perfect Central London location for those wishing to escape Oxford Circus for a quick manicure, facial, massage, or even a nice cup of tea and cake. For me, it was 20 minutes away from my phone, Instagram, Twitter, Facebook and WhatsApp. Heaven!

The whole experience was so great. I was greeted by my super friendly facialist, who offered me a cup of tea before I started my treatment. The candlelit room (Cowshed products of course!) was so soothing, and tranquil, allowing me to slip away from my troubles, and to-do-lists. The massage itself was beautiful, she used all Cowshed products to cleanse my face, and neck, steamed my face with a hot towel, and gave me the most amazing massage. I would tell you which products she used, but I was so relaxed, I didn't care to ask! Sorry! I do know she used the Anti-Ageing perfecting Serum because it was so good, I had to buy it.

The results are beyond incredible. Today, my skin feels so amazingly soft, I don't even recognise it as my own! The colour of my face looks different, it's definitely glowing from within, and not from makeup, and my face looks more symmetrical, which must be due to the Facial Yoga.

Facial Yoga, has become super popular recently as it's a non-invasive alternative to Botox and surgery. It helps to increase blood circulation, allowing more oxygen and more nourishment to reach the cells of the skin, which therefore stimulates collagen and elastin production to lift, firm, tone and reduce wrinkles. The result is a clear, healthy complexion with a beautiful glow which has less toxins and has a better ability to absorb moisture.

Any gym addict like me, would know that this makes total sense, and clearly works. It also seems that the endorphins have kicked in too, as I feel less stressed, and back to my normal happy self.

Namaste ;)

Prices start from £15
Skin Perfecting Facial £85 (75 mins) and Speedy Facial £42 (30 mins) For more information go to Coweshed Online

Crush of the week...

SALON SCIENCE® RETEXTULUXE SHAMPOO & CONDITIONER

* The whole Retexuluxe Range

Unlike my skincare and makeup products, I tend to change my shampoo and conditioner quite frequently. And, like most great relationships, after a while, my hair starts getting used to certain products, I get bored, and eventually, they lose their magic!

Ok, so my hair's latest squeeze, is SALON SCIENCE®
Retexuluxe Shampoo and Conditioner. I discovered Salon Science a few months ago in Boots whilst shopping for Bumble and bumble. The bottle looked super boring, but I was promised by the sales assistant that its branding reflects the cutting edge scientific expertise used to formulate premium skincare. SALON SCIENCE® Retexuluxe contains Swiss grape seed procyanidins, natural tocopherol, and uses plant stem cells and bio-active technology within the formulations which have not, until now, been available in haircare.

She also promised it would intensely nourish, retexturise my lifeless, and chemically damaged hair, to create a radiant, and healthy finish.
I totally fell for it of course!

Unconditional love...

Upon first use, my hair felt so smooth in the shower, I wasn't sure if the conditioner had fully washed out! It's seriously that good! Also, I didn't even need my tangle teezer after, which is an actual miracle! My hair texture has definitely improved, and the colour looks a lot more vibrant, and shiny.

Definitely a keeper ;)

Crush of the week...

ANTONIA BURRELL
FOREST DEW SKIN CONDITIONER

It's so difficult to find a mattifying toner that will keep your skin moisture free, without stripping your skin of its natural oils.

Problem solved. I came across holistic facialist, Antonia Burrell's Forest Dew Skin Conditioner whilst shopping on this amazing new beauty website Sable Beauty.

It took me a couple of days to notice its benefits because of how hot it was over the summer, but with persistence, and once temperatures had dropped, I suddenly realised how great it is compared to my usual toner.

Almost like magic, it reduces, and adds moisture to your skin in all of the right places. It balances sebum levels whilst deeply hydrating the skin, and it doesn't strip, or make your face feel uncomfortable like most oil free toners. It's alcohol free, 100 per cent natural, and contains Swiss Alpine, and cucumber extracts which alter the skins moisture and PH levels, boosts circulation, preparing it for absorbing serums and moisturisers.

Forest Dew Skin Conditioner also helps to treat and control inflammation, redness, large pores, giving you fresh looking, radiant, and dewy skin.

Available from Sable Beauty

Be cool Honey Bunny... the Pulp Fiction makeup collection is here!

URBAN DECALIMITED EDITION PULP FICTION COLLECTIO

Anyone who obsessively bought Chanel Rouge Noir in the 90's (yes, I started buying Chanel when I was young) will know that Mia Wallace is a total style icon.

As a child of the 90's, I watch Pulp Fiction every day, listened to the soundtrack, had the poster, and desperately wanted to be as cool Mia Wallace. So I was super excited to hear that Urban Decay have created a limited edition collection, inspired by the 'completely badass' Mrs. Mia Wallace, to celebrate Pulp Fiction's twentieth anniversary.

I know, it really has been that long!

The Pulp Fiction collection has everything you need to recreate the dark, and edgy look that Mia Wallace has in the film. Here's how you create the look:

- 1 -

The Eyeshadow Palette (£17.50) contains five shades of Eyeshadows to create her smokey (I haven't slept for 5 nights straight) eye. The amazing shiny black case features the fateful Ezekiel passage voiced by Jules Winnfield in the film. I would buy this and never use it, because the packaging is so cool.

- 2 -

The Heavy Metal Glitter Eyeliner (£14.00) in, of course, Gunmetal. The black with black and silver sparkle wasn't worn by Mia Wallace, but I think this definitely adds to that glazed over look she had in the film. I would do the classic cat flick, but if you want to go for the full effect, smudge a little under your lower lashes.

- 3 -

Finish the eyes off the Perversion Mascara (£17.00) which glides on and gets you 'sexed up in one stroke' for bigger, blacker, badder lashes! Apparently, its insane how black they get.

Probably as black as Mia Wallace's soul right?

- 4 -

Now for the lips. Recreate that famous blood red pout with the he 24/7 Glide on Lip Pencil (£13.00) and the The Revolution Lipstick

 - 5 -

Finish the look off with the Pulp Fiction nail colour (£10). This blood red, chip-resistant formula has a high-gloss finish that’s tough and durable, yet flexible.

Now, lets just "shut the f**k up for a minute and comfortably enjoy the silence."

Talk to Frank...

FRANK COFFEE BODY SCRUB

I love coffee. Mine's a soya/almond flat white, or during the summer, I like it on ice.

It is controversial, but I have heard that coffee is actually good for your skin, but, I would never actually introduce a packet of Ground Columbian into my bathroom! I discovered Frank Body Scrub a few weeks ago, when I found it in a party goody bag. I really liked the packaging, so thought I would try it out.

Turns out, the website is even better (see below).... Im not going to say much about it, as I want to seduce you with the branding, and website, like I did.

Also, check out their Blog and Instagram pages. I love it!

Frank Body Scrub originates from Australia. It is an all-natural coffee scrub for your body made with fresh coffee grinds and other natural ingredients. It does does what all scrubs do, softens skin targets skin conditions, stretch marks, eczema, acne, cellulite, and psoriasis.

This is my stash of Franks Coffee Scrub. Don't be fooled, the packaging is waterproof.

To use, you have to apply a small amount onto damp skin, and rub in. Don't rub too hard, as it's really coarse, and will leave your skin feeling raw. Once you've gently rubbed, and you feel that the product has stuck, leave for 5-10 minutes, and then rinse. Its super messy, and smells really bad, yet good, in equal measures, which is strange. The results are amazing. I would use it all over your body, or on problem areas where your skin is exceptionally dry. I would definitely call it the single girls scrub, as you probably wouldn't want to go near anyone after applying, the smell is literally, bittersweet. Totally worth it though.

**Please note - Do not drink!

YSL Fusion Inc Foundation

YSL FUSION INK FOUNDATION

Good news party girls, YSL have created a new 24 hour foundation...
and yes, it stays on all day, and ALL night!

Imagine a day where you can put on your makeup, go to work, followed by the gym, and then out all night without having to reapply your foundation? It seems that's what party girl du jour, Cara Delevigne, the face of the brand does, as this foundation is inspired by her all night partying, and waking up in last nights makeup.

YSL, Fusion Inc Foundation has been created using NASA-inspired technology, originally designed to capture stellar dust particles in outer space. Its radiance boasting base contains a super absorbing lipophilic active, which holds four times it's own weight in sebum (our natural oils) regardless of humidity, day and night.

It has generated a waiting list of over 12,00, so is it out of this world?

I managed to pick up a sample of the foundation in House Of Fraser so if you want to try it out, do it now, as most YSL counters are offering 7 day trials you can take home and keep until the weekend, which of course, is when the 24 hour party tests commence.

The first thing I notice about the foundation is the consistency, it's really watery. You have to dot it onto the skin and then smooth out. The coverage is amazing, so don't be fooled by the watery feel of the liquid. It dries instantly, leaving a perfect, velvety finish without caking. Also, the great thing about this foundation is that it saves you money, as there is no need to apply primer, or powder. Its brilliant for those with oilier skin, but if you have dry skin, or prefer a dewy look, this is not the product for you.

It lasted all day, and well into the evening without me having to reapply powder, but I have to admit, it didn't stay as matt, and flawless as the beginning of the day. After 12 hours, as your natural skin starts breaking through the foundation, it actually starts to look better. Maybe thats what they mean by 'morning after' foundation?

Im sorry, I haven't tested it out after the gym, straight out, and then sleeping in last night's makeup... alas, those days are almost over for me... but if Cara D can do it, I'm sure you can too!

Just remember to wash your face in the morning ;)

Bio-Oil

I know EVERYONE already knows about Bio-Oil and its benefits, but I wanted to remind you all how great it is.

I don't think theres a bathroom cupboard out there that doesn't possess a bottle of this liquid gold, as it received cult status around 10 years ago. I remember everyone talking about it at the time. We were all lathering ourselves up, waiting for some miracle to happen!

I recently found my old bottle, and started adding a few drops into my daily body cream to help rehydrate my skin.

My skin has really dried out this summer due to sun exposure, tanning, and air con. After a couple of weeks use, I have noticed a significant difference. My skin is softer, its glowing all over, my skintone has improved, and even a few scars I had from accidents (I'm quite clumsy sometimes, and fall a lot...) have started to fade. I don't know why I ever stopped using it?!

If you have a dusty old bottle sitting on your bathroom shelf, I would recommend getting back on it, this cult product was definitely not a fad!

Available from Boots, Holland & Barrett, and Superdrug
Prices start from £7.99

For those of you who don't know Bio-Oil, here's what it does:

  • Clinically proven to help improve the appearance scars, including acne scars, cuts, and stretch marks. It is also highly effective in helping to maintain the elasticity of scar tissue on joints and other high-mobility areas
  • Can be used on the face and body. I would recommend using it daily by adding a few drops to your moisturiser. If you have scars, add a little directly onto the affected area in circular motions, and repeat for around 3 months
  • Its great if you're pregnant.  Bio-Oil helps to increase the elasticity of the skin, thereby the possibility of new stretch marks forming is reduced
  • It can also be used to hydrate ageing and dehydrated skin, as it improves the texture and tone of skin to prevent wrinkles
  • Bio-Oil has won 183 skincare awards and has become the No.1 selling scar and stretch mark product in 17 countries since its global launch in 200
  • Formulated with the following all-natural ingredients: Vitamin A, Vitamin E, Calendula Oil, Lavender Oil, Rosemary Oil and Chamomile Oil

Hey, Hey, Hey - Topshop Nail Polish!

TOPSHOP NAIL POLISH

HEY, HEY, HEY!

I went a little crazy in the beauty department of Topshop today and purchased all three of these nail polishes... as well as lots of other products such as lipsticks and bronzers (review coming soon).

Topshop makeup isn't luxury, but like its fashion, the beauty products are on trend, affordable, fun, and the packaging is great. So if you're looking for a blue UV lipstick for a festival on the weekend, or a matt pastel nail polish for next season, chances are, Topshop will already be selling it.

So far I have tried Hey, Hey, Hey which is a baby blue nail polish with white speckles, which looks amazing on. The glitter particles are matt, so the speckles are very subtle. The consistency of the polish is actually really nice, and it comes on easily without streaking. I would recommend applying a base coat first, then two coats of nail polish. The first coat dries really quickly with the speckles, and then the fast drying second coat leaves a glossy finish. Its super cute.

The best thing about Topshop Nail Polish is that when I'm bored of this colour, I can go out and buy another for only £6, and it seems like they have hundreds to choose from.

The possibilities are endless.

Available from Topshop, Nationwide.

Crush of the week...

Dr Organic Moroccan Argan Oil Treatment Serum

Have you seen the youtube video of the girl curling her hair? That's me. I recently burnt off a huge chunk of my hair after using curling tongs for a 70's themed party.  Ok, it wasn't as bad as the youtube clip, as I only noticed it went missing a couple of weeks after.  And, by missing, I mean I had a random fringe with frazzled ends starting from the back of my crown. The rest of the hair must have snapped off. It was so disgusting, and as you can image, I was devastated.

Since then, I have packed away the hair tools, and have decided to use products, instead of  heated tongs, to create my messy get out of bed/beach look.

I came across the Dr Organic Moroccan Argan Oil Treatment Serum whilst shopping in Holland & Barrett.  Who knew Holland & Barrett sold beauty products? I didn't, until now. They have a huge range of organic products for all skin types which is great. I picked up the Argan Oil because the label read that it is award winning, and at such a low cost, I thought it was worth a try.

As soon as I stroked it through the ends of my hair, I noticed an immediate difference in texture and appearance. After a few weeks of use, it has made my colour stand out, my hair looks softer and shinier, and the frazzled burnt ends are finally tame, in fact, not even noticeable anymore. Its a really great product for dry, and coloured hair which can get really damaged in the summer.

To use, apply a tiny amount to the ends of the hair after blow drying. Be careful not to apply too much, as a full pump from the bottle releases a bit too much fluid, and it's super greasy. It is however, really lightweight, and easily absorbed without weighing the hair down. It really has changed the condition of my hair, I cant live without it!

Dr Organic Moroccan Argan Oil is an incredibly rich source of vitamins, antioxidants and essential fatty acids. Its produced with the finest Moroccan Argan Oil, formulated with a blend of naturally derived ingredients. The natural properties of this amazing oil are combined with a number of organic essential oils and fruit extracts to create a fragrant, rich and absorbent hair treatment serum.

If it tamed my burnt mane, it would definitely work for you and those humid summer days.
