Talk to Frank...

FRANK COFFEE BODY SCRUB

I love coffee. Mine's a soya/almond flat white, or during the summer, I like it on ice.

It is controversial, but I have heard that coffee is actually good for your skin, but, I would never actually introduce a packet of Ground Columbian into my bathroom! I discovered Frank Body Scrub a few weeks ago, when I found it in a party goody bag. I really liked the packaging, so thought I would try it out.

Turns out, the website is even better (see below).... Im not going to say much about it, as I want to seduce you with the branding, and website, like I did.

Also, check out their Blog and Instagram pages. I love it!

Frank Body Scrub originates from Australia. It is an all-natural coffee scrub for your body made with fresh coffee grinds and other natural ingredients. It does does what all scrubs do, softens skin targets skin conditions, stretch marks, eczema, acne, cellulite, and psoriasis.

This is my stash of Franks Coffee Scrub. Don't be fooled, the packaging is waterproof.

To use, you have to apply a small amount onto damp skin, and rub in. Don't rub too hard, as it's really coarse, and will leave your skin feeling raw. Once you've gently rubbed, and you feel that the product has stuck, leave for 5-10 minutes, and then rinse. Its super messy, and smells really bad, yet good, in equal measures, which is strange. The results are amazing. I would use it all over your body, or on problem areas where your skin is exceptionally dry. I would definitely call it the single girls scrub, as you probably wouldn't want to go near anyone after applying, the smell is literally, bittersweet. Totally worth it though.

**Please note - Do not drink!

YSL Fusion Inc Foundation

YSL FUSION INK FOUNDATION

Good news party girls, YSL have created a new 24 hour foundation...
and yes, it stays on all day, and ALL night!

Imagine a day where you can put on your makeup, go to work, followed by the gym, and then out all night without having to reapply your foundation? It seems that's what party girl du jour, Cara Delevigne, the face of the brand does, as this foundation is inspired by her all night partying, and waking up in last nights makeup.

YSL, Fusion Inc Foundation has been created using NASA-inspired technology, originally designed to capture stellar dust particles in outer space. Its radiance boasting base contains a super absorbing lipophilic active, which holds four times it's own weight in sebum (our natural oils) regardless of humidity, day and night.

It has generated a waiting list of over 12,00, so is it out of this world?

I managed to pick up a sample of the foundation in House Of Fraser so if you want to try it out, do it now, as most YSL counters are offering 7 day trials you can take home and keep until the weekend, which of course, is when the 24 hour party tests commence.

The first thing I notice about the foundation is the consistency, it's really watery. You have to dot it onto the skin and then smooth out. The coverage is amazing, so don't be fooled by the watery feel of the liquid. It dries instantly, leaving a perfect, velvety finish without caking. Also, the great thing about this foundation is that it saves you money, as there is no need to apply primer, or powder. Its brilliant for those with oilier skin, but if you have dry skin, or prefer a dewy look, this is not the product for you.

It lasted all day, and well into the evening without me having to reapply powder, but I have to admit, it didn't stay as matt, and flawless as the beginning of the day. After 12 hours, as your natural skin starts breaking through the foundation, it actually starts to look better. Maybe thats what they mean by 'morning after' foundation?

Im sorry, I haven't tested it out after the gym, straight out, and then sleeping in last night's makeup... alas, those days are almost over for me... but if Cara D can do it, I'm sure you can too!

Just remember to wash your face in the morning ;)

Crush of the week...

Bio-Oil

I know EVERYONE already knows about Bio-Oil and its benefits, but I wanted to remind you all how great it is.

I don't think theres a bathroom cupboard out there that doesn't possess a bottle of this liquid gold, as it received cult status around 10 years ago. I remember everyone talking about it at the time. We were all lathering ourselves up, waiting for some miracle to happen!

I recently found my old bottle, and started adding a few drops into my daily body cream to help rehydrate my skin.

My skin has really dried out this summer due to sun exposure, tanning, and air con. After a couple of weeks use, I have noticed a significant difference. My skin is softer, its glowing all over, my skintone has improved, and even a few scars I had from accidents (I'm quite clumsy sometimes, and fall a lot...) have started to fade. I don't know why I ever stopped using it?!

If you have a dusty old bottle sitting on your bathroom shelf, I would recommend getting back on it, this cult product was definitely not a fad!

Available from Boots, Holland & Barrett, and Superdrug
Prices start from £7.99

For those of you who don't know Bio-Oil, here's what it does:

  • Clinically proven to help improve the appearance scars, including acne scars, cuts, and stretch marks. It is also highly effective in helping to maintain the elasticity of scar tissue on joints and other high-mobility areas
  • Can be used on the face and body. I would recommend using it daily by adding a few drops to your moisturiser. If you have scars, add a little directly onto the affected area in circular motions, and repeat for around 3 months
  • Its great if you're pregnant.  Bio-Oil helps to increase the elasticity of the skin, thereby the possibility of new stretch marks forming is reduced
  • It can also be used to hydrate ageing and dehydrated skin, as it improves the texture and tone of skin to prevent wrinkles
  • Bio-Oil has won 183 skincare awards and has become the No.1 selling scar and stretch mark product in 17 countries since its global launch in 200
  • Formulated with the following all-natural ingredients: Vitamin A, Vitamin E, Calendula Oil, Lavender Oil, Rosemary Oil and Chamomile Oil

Hey, Hey, Hey - Topshop Nail Polish!

TOPSHOP NAIL POLISH

HEY, HEY, HEY!

I went a little crazy in the beauty department of Topshop today and purchased all three of these nail polishes... as well as lots of other products such as lipsticks and bronzers (review coming soon).

Topshop makeup isn't luxury, but like its fashion, the beauty products are on trend, affordable, fun, and the packaging is great. So if you're looking for a blue UV lipstick for a festival on the weekend, or a matt pastel nail polish for next season, chances are, Topshop will already be selling it.

So far I have tried Hey, Hey, Hey which is a baby blue nail polish with white speckles, which looks amazing on. The glitter particles are matt, so the speckles are very subtle. The consistency of the polish is actually really nice, and it comes on easily without streaking. I would recommend applying a base coat first, then two coats of nail polish. The first coat dries really quickly with the speckles, and then the fast drying second coat leaves a glossy finish. Its super cute.

The best thing about Topshop Nail Polish is that when I'm bored of this colour, I can go out and buy another for only £6, and it seems like they have hundreds to choose from.

The possibilities are endless.

Available from Topshop, Nationwide.

Crush of the week...

Dr Organic Moroccan Argan Oil Treatment Serum

Have you seen the youtube video of the girl curling her hair? That's me. I recently burnt off a huge chunk of my hair after using curling tongs for a 70's themed party.  Ok, it wasn't as bad as the youtube clip, as I only noticed it went missing a couple of weeks after.  And, by missing, I mean I had a random fringe with frazzled ends starting from the back of my crown. The rest of the hair must have snapped off. It was so disgusting, and as you can image, I was devastated.

Since then, I have packed away the hair tools, and have decided to use products, instead of  heated tongs, to create my messy get out of bed/beach look.

I came across the Dr Organic Moroccan Argan Oil Treatment Serum whilst shopping in Holland & Barrett.  Who knew Holland & Barrett sold beauty products? I didn't, until now. They have a huge range of organic products for all skin types which is great. I picked up the Argan Oil because the label read that it is award winning, and at such a low cost, I thought it was worth a try.

As soon as I stroked it through the ends of my hair, I noticed an immediate difference in texture and appearance. After a few weeks of use, it has made my colour stand out, my hair looks softer and shinier, and the frazzled burnt ends are finally tame, in fact, not even noticeable anymore. Its a really great product for dry, and coloured hair which can get really damaged in the summer.

To use, apply a tiny amount to the ends of the hair after blow drying. Be careful not to apply too much, as a full pump from the bottle releases a bit too much fluid, and it's super greasy. It is however, really lightweight, and easily absorbed without weighing the hair down. It really has changed the condition of my hair, I cant live without it!

Dr Organic Moroccan Argan Oil is an incredibly rich source of vitamins, antioxidants and essential fatty acids. Its produced with the finest Moroccan Argan Oil, formulated with a blend of naturally derived ingredients. The natural properties of this amazing oil are combined with a number of organic essential oils and fruit extracts to create a fragrant, rich and absorbent hair treatment serum.

If it tamed my burnt mane, it would definitely work for you and those humid summer days.
