Prada Candy L'Eau

I’m a huge Roman Coppola and Wes Anderson (Darjeeling Limited, Moonrise Kingdom) fan, so when I discovered they had teamed up with PRADA to make a 3 part film for the new Candy L'Eau fragrance starring Léa Seydoux, I was trés excited!

Capturing the fun and playful spirit of nouvelle vague cinema, the three films feature Léa Seydoux as ingénue Candy, being wooed by best friends Julius and Gene.

...which one of these big haired Parisian's will she choose?

The fragrance itself is a lighter version of the original Prada Candy which is great news for me because I found it overpowering - it contains white musk, caramel, benzoin, sweet pea and citrus notes . The packaging is the same beautiful art deco bottle as its predecessor, but this time in nude and gold.
I think I’m in love with Candy L'Eau too!
From £50, available exclusively at Selfridges until April 29.

Illamasqua Speckled Nail Polish

Illamasqua, Speckled Nail Polish, £14.40

This month I have learnt that you only start missing things/people/food when you realise you can't have them. Abstinence. I have given up chocolate for lent, and having never really craved chocolate before, I seem to have developed an unfathomable desire for the stuff! So, to celebrate Easter (sans chocolate) I wanted to show you the new speckled nail polishes from Illamasqua, which also happen to resemble chocolate mini eggs.

When I initially saw this collection a few weeks ago I wasn't so impressed, but then I saw it on a friend, and it looked AMAzing! Part of the imperfection range, the nail polish collection is inspired by the fragility and beauty of irregular markings upon bird eggs. Sounds a bit gross, but I guess that's the whole point and ethos behind the collection - finding beauty in something that isn't conventionally deemed as attractive.

The collection comes in five pastel shades of green, lilac, baby pink, sky blue, and creamy nude.  The ultrafine matt glitter creates an unusual yet beautiful finish which dries with a smooth glossy finish. I seriously need them in every colour!

This will definitely distract me from my chocolate cravings for a while..

Two weeks to go....

Lions and Tigers, and Bears...OPI!

OPI WIZARD OF OZ COLLECTION, £11.50 each

I am super excited about the limited collection by OPI, inspired by Disney's Oz The Great Powerful, staring James Franco, Michelle Williams and Mila Kunis.

Without a ruby or emerald in sight, the six limited edition shades consist of soft neutral shades of beige and pink, to glittery, white, silver and gold iridescent confetti - all ideal for layering, or glitter tips.  The collection also includes a new Liquid Sand shade which was created using groundbreaking technology for a textured, matte finish infused with reflective sparkles.

Layer these:
over these:

Now click your heels three times to be transported to James Franco... but I guess that would just be a wonderful dream... oh my!

Beauty News Flash - Marc Jacobs Nail Polish!

OMG! MARC JACOBS SET TO LAUNCH NAIL POLISH LINE!!!

Social media went into frenzy this week when beauty editors revealed the new nail polish line by Marc Jacobs.  Revealed backstage at his AW13 New York Fashion Week show, the nail polish line will be part of his new collection for Sephora.

The two shades, a deep red shade called 'Jezebel' and 'Shiny', a clear polish inspired by the designers coffee table, is formulated to give the appearance of 30 coats in just one swipe.

Unfortunately, we will have to wait until late 2013 for the products to be available, and at this moment, I have no idea if they will be launching in the UK.

In the meantime, im putting a flight on hold! More details to follow...

Glow with the flow

POUDRE SIGNÉE DE CHANEL Illuminating Powder, Chanel

How does Jennifer Lopez achieve such amazing skin?

That's what I sked myself when I recently saw her 'I'm into you' video.  What is her secret to perfect skin? Is it the glow you get from dating a younger man? Or is she blessed with perfect skin genes?

I go with the latter, so if you too aspire to having incredible glowing skin a la Ms Lopez, but dont have the genes (or toyboy), check out the new POUDRE SIGNÉE DE CHANEL Illuminating Powder from Chanel.

Embossed with iconic symbols of double 'C's, lipsticks, nail polishes, and camellias, this limited edition powder seems almost too good to use! It really did take me a while to talk myself into using it.

The perfect product to brighten winter skin, POUDRE SIGNÉE DE CHANEL highlights the skin with a natural, pinky golden glow, giving more subtle tone than the usual shimmery effect normally expected from a highlighter.

Note carefully - do not be fooled by the power of subtlety as this refined powder has been created using new technology to make it last all day, so avoid using it on the whole face, as it can look super intense in certain lights.  The compact is packaged inside a beautiful velvet pouch, and comes with a sponge applicator to give a more accurate application, however, I would recommend using a powder or blusher brush as the sponge tends to remove your base makeup.

£46.00, Available at Nationwide.

Silver Linings

Andy Warhol 'Silver Factory' collection, Nars

I know the collection is Soooooo last season (AW/12) however, I feel the need to talk about these amazing products that are still available to buy in some department stores.

Inspired by one of my idols, Andy Warhol, this limited edition Silver Factory Studio collection probably has the best packaging I have ever seen, and the pop art inspired makeup doesn't disappoint either - I wanted to buy it all!

 “I’ve never met a person I couldn’t call a beauty”

From the man who was obsessed with makeup to cover his own skin condition, and wearing wigs to change his appearance, this collection celebrates eccentric beauty, and evokes the exciting and vivid world that Andy Wahol lived in.  Always surrounding himself with fellow artists, derailed celebrities, rock stars and drag queens, it's surprising that this is the first makeup collection that pays tribute the artist's work and his muses.

“I had a lot of dates but I decided to stay home and dye my eyebrows”

The collection:

The Debbie Harry eye-and-cheek palette is inspired by Warhol’s use of diamond dust in his silk screens.  The Edie set, which comes in a 16 mm film canister adorns an image from one of Sedgwick’s original screen tests and contains all of the paraphernalia to re-creating her iconic 60's look - defined brows, smoky eyes, and a nude lip, which have recently been seen on the SS13 catwalks such as Marc Jacobs.  The Warhol self portrait eye shadow paltettes printed with the artists own silhouette so amazing, I cant bring myself to use it, sorry!  The nail polishes include deep-plum New York Dolls, lemon-yellow 15 Minutes, and onyx Back Room—a tribute to Max’s Kansas City, the New York nightclub.

I have decided to experiment with the Edie look this season...
